Splicing belt production is an elaborate process consisting of a number of important elements including: material selection, processing and quality inspection. First of all, at the material selection stage, high tenacity polyester fibre or steel wire rope must be selected for the reinforcing layer, and then carefully matched to rubber or polyurethane cover layer with high wear resistance properties. All raw materials are treated through strict pre-treatment procedure, which includes surface cleaning and activation treatment, in order that the layers can be perfectly welded during the subsequent processing. During shearing of the lengths, special care must be taken to make sure that precision cut equipment is used that will ensure that the end faces of the belts are flat, which is the starting place for ensuring the quality of the weld
The welding process is the central technical link in the production of the splicing belt. Currently, modern manufacturing uses advanced production processes like hot-melt welding or high-frequency welding, through precise control of the temperature and pressure and time parameters, that can fully fuse the two ends of the molecular chain of the belt body. This process relies on the cooperation of special molds to ensure the thickness of joint part is the same as the length of the entire joint part. After the welding is completed, the joints are also sanded to remove any burrs or unevenness that may exist to ensure smooth running. Some high-end products would also use a reinforced patch design at the joint area to enhance the area' tensile strength even further.
Quality inspection is our last chance to ensure splice belt reliability. The entire acceptance procedure includes: tensile test to simulate actual working load, to confirm ultimate tensile strength of the joint part; bending test to establish the ability for the joint to bend in dynamic operation; wear test using standard friction experiment to predict service life. It is also important to execute the appearance of the inspection, dimension accuracy measurements and any other normal inspection. Only the splicing tapes that have passed all the tests are allowed to leave the factory. These strict quality control measures ensure the products perform as required in all kinds of industrial applications and ensure a reliable guarantee for continuity of production
